Trails leading to Lakos Bay, Dalaman's hidden paradise...

The Kocagöl Lakos Bay hiking trail starts from the Kayacık ridges. This route, which has a higher difficulty level, is the second most challenging route after the full Kapıdağ Peninsula tour. Although it is one of the most difficult trails among EcoTrails routes, it offers the best views.

Kocagöl Lakos Bay Kayacık Loop Trail

One of the best things about this trail is that it's a loop trail. This means you'll finish where you started. You can drive to the starting point in Kapukargın neighborhood and leave your car in a suitable location. The trail is approximately 19km long. The first 3km start with an increase in altitude. You'll progress through pine trees with views of Kocagöl Lake. While some parts of the trail are marked, others are not. Therefore, you will need to use Wikiloc or similar maps. After Kocagöl Lake , Lakos Bay will be your first stop. It's an extremely pleasant bay. Here you can swim, relax, and enjoy the tranquility as it's not very crowded. From there, continuing via İncebel, you will see Kayacık beach from the peaks and then return to your starting point.

Kocagöl Lakos Bay Kayacık Trail Statistics

The distance from the starting point to the same point is approximately 19km. Remember that this is a challenging trail and should not be attempted without equipment and supplies. It is only recommended for individuals who are fully fit and healthy. Over the 19km, you will gain and lose 929m in altitude. Because it is a strenuous trail, you must take plenty of rest breaks. If you have any health problems, absolutely avoid this trail. Ankle-supporting trekking boots, trekking poles, a first-aid kit, and a guide are absolutely essential on this trail.

Clear Advice Before the Hike

We have some very clear recommendations for you before you embark on this hike. These suggestions are designed to ensure you have a comfortable walk.

  • Trekking Pole Usage: Bring two trekking poles with you on this trail.
  • Footwear Selection: The course is extremely challenging, with many ups and downs and rocky terrain. To prevent ankle sprains, we strongly recommend wearing boots that support the ankle.
  • Spare Clothes: Bring a spare t-shirt and socks. You will sweat during the hike, so we recommend changing clothes at a suitable location.
  • Drinks: Be sure to pack enough water in your backpack before you start hiking. There are no water sources, fountains, etc. along the trail, so you should go prepared.
  • Snacks: You'll be spending a large part of your day here. So, pack lunch snacks in your bag before you set off on your journey to prepare for hunger. Also, bring small pieces of sugary/salty snacks to help prevent drops in blood sugar and blood pressure.
  • Swimwear: If you plan to swim, be sure to bring swimwear. Lacoste Bay is a fantastic spot for swimming!

What's along the course?

The trail consists entirely of unspoiled areas. There are no shops, markets, water fountains, or other businesses along the hiking trail. Therefore, you need to be prepared. Along the route, you will see forests, lakes, bays, and views from mountaintops.
